To create cleaner neighbourhoods, reduce waste, and open up new opportunities for people in need — one bin store at a time.
Our work strengthens the local circular economy and brings social value directly into the communities we serve.

Squosh Social CIC is a community-focused social enterprise based in Greater Manchester. We exist to tackle a growing problem across high-rise and low-rise social housing: perfectly reusable items being thrown away, overflowing bin stores that affect entire communities, and missed recycling opportunities caused by contamination and excess waste.
We rescue, redistribute, and repurpose items that residents no longer need, helping local families while reducing the environmental impact across our neighbourhoods.

Squosh Social was created from real, lived experience. Our founders also run the award-winning Squosh Compacting Company, the UK’s first mobile bin-store management service. Through years of working in communal bin stores, we saw the same issues again and again:
Squosh Social was born to fill that gap — offering a solution that is both environmental and social.

♻️ Rescuing & Redistributing Reusable Items
Furniture, household goods, children’s items, kitchenware (and more) are collected from bin stores and redistributed to people in genuine need.
We sort, separate, and recycle cardboard that would otherwise be treated as waste — reducing contamination and improving recycling performance.
Cleaner, better-organised spaces lead to better habits. We install signage, provide simple donation routes, and create convenient ways for residents to do the right thing.
We provide volunteering roles, work experience, and pathways into employment — with a focus on refugees, young people, and those furthest from the labour market.

Squosh Social CIC exists to prevent usable furniture and household items from going to landfill and redistribute them free of charge to people most in need.
We work in communal bin stores and shared spaces across social housing to rescue discarded items, reduce waste, improve recycling opportunities, and support positive behaviour change. Alongside this, we create volunteering, training, and employment opportunities, improve the appearance of neighbourhoods, and help landlords reduce the costs and environmental impact of waste.
